Monster Energy MACC Racing Celebrates Success in Thrilling P1 AquaX Season Finale at Clearwater Beach

Clearwater, FL – November 5, 2024 – The Monster Energy MACC Racing team delivered a thrilling performance in the final round of the P1 AquaX race series at Clearwater Beach last weekend. After the cancellation of the previous round in St. Petersburg due to Hurricane Milton, the stakes were high, with Chris MacClugage and Tim Miller vying for national championship points.

Chris MacClugage's Resilient Comeback Secures Championship Podium

Chris MacClugage faced early setbacks with a breakdown in Race 1 and a collision in Race 2 caused major damage to his jet ski jeopardizing his title hopes. However, thanks to the relentless efforts of MACC Racing’s mechanics, MacClugage returned with a vengeance on day two. In a captivating Race 4 showdown with Eric Lagopoulos, Chris executed one of his signature mid-race passes, clinching his first victory of the weekend. 

Building on this momentum, MacClugage delivered an exceptional performance in Race 5. With an impressive start on his Monster Energy Ski, he maintained his lead from beginning to end. This decisive win earned him crucial points, securing 3rd place in the overall P1 AquaX Championships.

Another Solid Performance from Tim Miller

Tim Miller has showcased consistency throughout the entire P1 AquaX season, achieving his best result with a 5th place finish in Clearwater. His efforts significantly contributed to Monster Energy MACC Racing’s 3rd place finish in the 2024 P1 AquaX Team Championship. After returning to AquaX racing this year, Miller reached his goal of a top 10 finish in the overall championship, securing 7th place.

Cooper Caldwell Wins P1 AquaX AM 200 Championship in His Rookie Season

Monster Energy MACC Racing’s Cooper Caldwell has had an outstanding season, winning the P1 AquaX AM 200 Championship by dominating the first four rounds. With the title already secured before the final round, Caldwell tested his skills in the AM 300 Class, where he showed great promise for next season. Despite a breakdown causing a DNF in Race 1, Cooper finished strong with two 4th places in Races 2 and 3.

Monster Energy MACC Racing also welcomed Spanish riders Enrique Garcia and Andoni Gutierrez for their debut in the US P1 AquaX Championship. Enrique took the win in race 3 to mark off a great weekend with a 2nd place overall finish in the AM 200 Class. Meanwhile, Andoni showcased his tenacity in the highly competitive AM 300 Class, finishing 5th in Race 1 and 6th in Race 2 out of a field of 26 riders.
